it's alive!!!!

yey! finally got my mac resurrected!!! we're back in business... well... in a bit. i replaced the hard drive... no more old files, and i have to re-install and download all of those software and apple updates. it's going to take me a whole afternoon for this. but at least my hard drive now is a bit fatter: 160GB compared to the tiny 60GB stock HDD... and now have the chance to cleanup some folder structures and other things i've been meaning to do.

and yeah i got this memory upgraded to 1gig. Was thinking about maxing up to 2Gb but, then again, it would just be unnecessary cost. I'll see if 1gig would suffice for my music, internet, programming, office apps, and some other stuff that i'd be doing here concurrently.

i was in the sm technofair yesterday and i was like a kid in a candystore... gone were the days that the really small laptops cost Php100K-ish... and i could get a decent one for at least Php15K. Asus eeePC, HP mini, Acer Aspire One... all in the sub Php25K mark... i was really REALLY tempted to get one... but then again... i love my mac. =D no windows system could push me further than my mac. so i bought some repairs and upgrades instead.

*sigh* thank God for defered payment. it's a bit expensive upgrade. at least i don't have to pay service... i checked on powermac center and there service fees are #$!@#$@%!!!! P1.5K to replace a RAM, P1.5K to replace the harddisk! P1K to re-install Mac OSX! and that's on top of their overpriced memory modules and harddrives! sheesh... i've done that in less than 30 mins in the comforts of my bedroom! and here i am now with my up and running system.

so, if you need a memory and hard drive upgrade for your mac, or any laptops, i'd do it half the price. hardware not included. hehehe.

next project: iPhone3G!!! or should i wait for that google phone? i'll see! merry christmas to me!
